What is WAVE PTX?
WAVE PTX is a push-to-talk over cellular (PTToC, sometimes called PoC) service from Motorola Solutions. It delivers the instant, one-to-many communication of a two-way radio over the mobile networks and Wi-Fi you already have access to, so your coverage area is Australia, not a radius around a repeater.
How It Works

Organised like radio channels
Your team is arranged into talk groups, just like radio channels. Press the PTT button and everyone in the group hears you instantly. Private one-to-one calls, broadcast calls and text or multimedia messaging sit alongside voice.
4G, 5G and Wi-Fi carriage
Devices connect over public mobile networks or site Wi-Fi and switch between them automatically. There are no repeaters to install, no towers to lease and no coverage engineering projects before day one.
Radios, phones and desktops in one group
Purpose-built TLK handsets and mobiles, the WAVE PTX smartphone app, and the browser-based dispatch console all join the same talk groups, so field, fleet and office genuinely share one conversation.
Bridges to existing MOTOTRBO fleets
If you already run MOTOTRBO digital two-way radios, they can be linked into WAVE PTX talk groups. On-site crews keep their radios, while travelling staff join over cellular, with nothing lost in between.
